Nepalese Buddha Statues
These statues are cast using the lost-wax cast method. Handmade clay molds surrounded by a thin layer of wax hold the detailed design into the bronze as it is heated, melting away the wax and forming the Buddha.
Because each statue is handmade, each one is quite unique. These Buddha statues are believed to have up to 80,000 icons and characteristics. The placement of the legs, hands, arms, crowns, flowers, accessories, and all other points each represent the ideals or achievements of the specific Buddha.
