DEFENSIVE TIBETAN DEITY MASK HAND CARVED WOOD
Has a nice natural color with Skulls across the top.

Skull crown is a classic attribute of protective dietys.
The quality of this carving is very remarkable. Wear marks around eyes and on nose are visible in pictures..
This mask originates in Tibet and Nepal from the tribal people who inhabit the Himalayas. These masks are used to defeat evil spirits and, when not being used for a ceremony, are hung on the walls of Tibetan homes. The photos don't give it justice.
They should be viewed as cultural artifacts of artistic merit. All the masks shown here were created for local use.
